Key takeaways from Definia’s first Lead Principal Associate roundtable

This month, we hosted our first Lead Principal Associate roundtable at Definia, a significant milestone in our journey. To capture the insights from the discussion, we sat down with Will Jones to hear his key takeaways from the session.

Reflections from Will Jones

Last Thursday, I had the privilege of hosting our inaugural Lead Principal Associate roundtable. Joined by a group of our Lead Associate, we engaged in a fascinating conversation about the trials, tribulations, and triumphs as we enter the next stage of development at Definia.

Embracing a growth mindset and our principle of ‘keeping it kaizen,’ the shared experiences and intellectual horsepower available to drive our thinking and approach were incredibly humbling.

With a strict agenda to keep us focused, here are some of my key takeaways:

  • Unique perspectives: Our lead associate partner community possesses a powerful blend of leadership and experience from both consultancy and end-user roles, allowing them to see problems through our clients’ lens.  This is a differentiator compared to traditional consultancies and has proven to drive exceptional value through our engagements.
  • Insightful independence: The ability to help our clients rise above their challenges, without being conflicted by existing politics and create a roadmap for delivery identifying quick wins and medium to long term transformation agendas.
  • High-performing culture: The importance of quickly establishing a high-performing culture and how to achieve this remembering the capability we can deliver through  building diverse teams of experts within our hybrid consultancy approach (and also being mindful of the ‘wonky fish’).
  • Science-backed value: Utilising our maturity assessments and capability models brings immediate value, however this is amplified further by the collective experience of our Lead Associates adopting them.
  • Simplicity and execution: Keeping things simple and executing the basics beautifully – easily said, but quickly forgotten!

This is just the beginning of our conversations, and there will be more insights to come. If you’re interested in getting involved with Definia and joining our mission to eliminate failing transformation programmes, please reach out.

Let’s shape the future together.
